I love David! I’m so glad they got it right this time, though David Archuleta is a great singer. Cook is performer and you can see that in him. Best success to you David, I’m really rooting for you!

Gosh does it matter were he got it from all that really matters is he did a great job. Chris Cornell wrote it but is that what they are looking at in this competition? NO. They are looking at if the sang it well.

I’m sorry, but I really don’t think this is good at all. (Compared to Chris Cornell)

I agree with TheHeartbreakBabe. If Chris Cornell didn’t mind, why should we?

jinkaz03,
In addition to what I’ve already stated (and still stand by), Chris Cornell himself made no fuss over it at all. In fact, at one point he even added a YouTube video of this performance to his MySpace! Maybe you didn’t listen to his radio interview with Ryan Seacrest but he was genuinely happy and praised Cook wholeheartedly. For that alone, this discussion should be dropped. It’s Cornell’s version, Cornell watched the performance and loved it. And that’s all that matters in my book.

I wouldn’t have a problem with this if he would have given props to cornell’s version.

Awesome. Best version I’ve ever heard of Billie Jean. No wonder Cornell gave David huge props this performance. Chris was so impressed he offered him his song “Light On” for his album.
