I have a kid around this age, and I’m willing to bet that if any one of them had been watching alone, her reaction would’ve been more like “Oh, that sucks, I wanted Archuleta to win,” without sobs and drama–people are much more dramatic in like-minded crowds, especially tween girls (also, I wonder if they were showing off for the camera?).

This kind of mob hysteria got the Salem Witch Trials started! : /
